Who doesn’t know Sourav Ganguly. He is maybe, the most loved captain after MS Dhoni who decided to call it a quit. But little did he know, that even someone loveable like him can have enemies. As per reports in ABP news, the former Indian skipper has received death threats from a unknown source. This has taken the Cricket Association of Bengal, BCCI and the Kolkata police by surprise and shock; both alike.
The letter tells Ganguly not to attend a inter-college cricket meet at the Vidyasagar University in Midnapore on 19 January. Sources tell us that the letter was addressed to his mother, Nirupa Ganguly warning her not to send her son as the chief guest for the said program in Midnapore.
“Your son is hereby warned not to attend the programme. If he dares to come here, you will not see him again,” is what has been written in the letter.
The former Indian captain has also confirmed this and has told us that he has informed the police. He was truly supposed to be the chief guest at the inter-college meet at the Vidyasagar University in Midnapore. He also told the media that he received the letter on 7th of January. The Cricket Association of Bengal has not said anything yet, but it’s President has told us they are still not against sending Ganguly as the chief guest. “Let’s see what happens.” is what he told the cameramen.
Whatever happens we wish our former skipper All the Best, and we just want him to be safe and sound. The motive of the letter is still not confirmed, but things might just unfold soon.
