Yesterday Mumbai witnessed Coldplay’s live concert in the Global Citizen festival. Chris Martin finished the concert on an elevated note with his band by performing ‘Vande Mataram’ with the music expert AR Rahman and waving the India’s National Flag on the stage.
Coldplay performed for nearly an hour in Mumbai at the MMRDA grounds.
Not only this, the British Rock band also sang several memorable songs including ‘Yellow’, ‘Viva La Vida’, ‘Paradise’, and ‘Fix You’, among others.
Martin invited AR Rahman on the stage and both performed ‘Maa Tujhe salaam…Vande Mataram’.

This wasn’t all. Martin also engrossed everyone with his own adaptation of song ‘Channa Mereya’ from KJ’s film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.

During the performance Martin said, “Namaste friends, yeh hamari khushkismati hai ki itne khoobsurat desh mein aaye hain.”
Initially, Martin was introduced by cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, actress Frieda Pinto and actor Shah Rukh Khan.
Not only this, many other Bollywood celebrities gathered together to watch the live show. Some of them were Alia Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra, Sonakshi Sinha, Ranveer Singh, Arijit Singh, and Ranveer Singh.
Would you believe if I said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also supposed to attend the event? But, alas! he couldn’t make it. However, he joined via a video link that was beamed live.
Throughout the day various performances by Jay-Z, Demi Lovato, Farhan Akhtar, and Ranveer Singh lit up the crowd as various eminent personalities from across India and the world answered Global Citizens’ calls to commit towards a real, concrete change in the world.
Primarily, all the leaders at the event focused on the power of the youth to make a brighter future and this message was brought out loud and clear.
