Yes, he had a wish which is left unfulfilled, which is a very sad part to know.
The legendary and the magnetic charm of Bollywood was born in Peshawar on October 6, 1946 at sardar area in cantonment jurisdiction. His father Kishanchand Khanna was a prominent businessman and former minister in congress which was North-west Frontier Province, British India and now it is known as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
Vinod Khanna always wanted to visit his ancestor place in Peshawar. But he could not fulfill his wish. Vinod Khanna passed away on 27th April, 2017 in Mumbai (70 years).
Shakeel Waheedullah, General Secretary Cultural Heritage Council Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who met Khanna in 2014 said,
“In his autograph, Khanna extended his good wishes to people of Peshawar and had expressed his desire to visit his birth place. He was so keen to visit his ancestral city and see the place where his ancestors lived.”
“He also sent a request to Pakistan, but couldn’t succeed,” Waheedullah added.
He said the Cultural Heritage Council Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will soon hold an event to honour this legendary actor Vinod Khanna. The Renowned film historian Muhammad Ibrahim Zia, who was also a part of this program, met Khanna and Dilip Kumar, who was also from the same city, Peshawar. Zia said Khanna’s Ancestral home in Peshawar is flawless and being used by all Pakistan women’s association.
Khanna’s father Kishanchand was a well-known person in Peshawar and migrated to India in 1947 when Khanna was an infant.
